5 or 10km for runners & walkers. Every Thursday during the summer daylight saving period:
Series 1: Thursday 28 September 2017 to Thursday 14 December 2017
Series 2: Thursday 11 January 2018 to Thursday 29 March 2018
Walkers start at 5:30 PM, runners start at 6:00 PM Meet outside the main grandstand in the Auckland Domain. There are distances to suit everyone, no matter what their current fitness level may be. Choose either the 5km or the 10kms. Entry is only $5 for adults and $2 for kids and every number goes into the Spot Prize draw

New Season News - 12 October 2017
It was great to see you all again this week for the third week of this 2017/18 season of the Summer Series in the Domain, brought to you by the Auckland YMCA Marathon Club.
Thanks again to our volunteers, helpers and sponsors. Tonight’s great spot prizes where generously supplied by Tasti NZ, thanks Matt for organising them. I’m sure they’ll be much sought after over the following weeks.
Welcome again to the 20 (Andrew, Ben, Carlos, Charmaine, Chris, Daniel, David, Freya, Gareth, Holly, Imogen, Isozaki, John, Klass, Lindsay, Madeline, Marcia, Michael, Nikki and Nina) who joined us for the first time this series. It’s great to have you all along and we look forward to seeing you all over the summer series.
And a special welcome and congratulations to all the children who are competing in the series, you all are showing some great determination and effort out there, especially as you race your siblings and parents to the finish line.
We hope you enjoyed the new course; the feedback so far has been 100% positive so it looks to be a keeper with one small change. Charmaine and John suggested going clockwise for The Crescent – Domain Drive – The Crescent loop after coming down Cenotaph Drive. We think that’s a great idea, so let’s give it a go next week. As a few of you managed to find your own alternative sections, and as we all need to follow the same course, we hope to have a few more marshals and directions arrows around the course next week. If you’re injured or otherwise unable to run one week, feel free to come along anyway and volunteer as a marshal, it would be much appreciated. I have adjusted a few times to allow for some of you who admitted to taking a ‘short cut’ or two.
Well done to everyone who managed to better their previous time, there’s definitely a lot of effort going on so we’re expecting some great PB’s over the series.
Congratulations to Matthew and Oriath who took the 5km line honours for the men and women respectively. Also congratulations to David Lear who finished with an impressive 39:04, the second fasted 10km for this series to date. Well done again to Yoko who took the ladies 10km line honours the second week in a row.
If you’re looking for something else to fill your running fix now, don’t forget if you want to run longer distances, The Auckland YMCA Marathon Club Inc runs every Sunday morning from the Pitt Street YMCA. The 14 week build up to the 2017 Auckland Marathon is already 12 weeks in but we’ll be back to ‘normal’ distances in November. Although, if you’re okay with 26 plus kms, feel free to join us at 8:00am on Sunday, there’s always the half marathon options which is around 18kms.
