Welcome in to NZ Daylight Saving. Head along every Thursday, to the Auckland Domain for the 5 & 10K Summer Series. Walkers, runners, slow or fast, it doesn't matter. We cater for all fitness levels in a friendly environment around our picturesque Domain. It always helps with the motivation, to run with other like minded individuals and we email you your finishing times, so you can keep track of your improvements. Join our regular volunteer organisers, walkers and runners and the usually enthusiastic, visitors to our city.
Meet as usual, at the Grandstand, off Park Rd. Walkers start at 5:30 and runners at 6pm. Register with the friendly time keepers Alaina, Isla and Dave and enjoy a challenging race course. You don't need to be a member of our running club, to participate. Visitors are most welcome to share the walking and running experience, with other like minded people. Keys, valuables and bags may be left in the box at the grandstand.
Entry is by way of a $5 contribution, and that puts you in the draw for one of our fabulous Spot Prizes at 7pm.
Each entrant receives an email with their individual time and you can check your improving status on the Leaderboard. Click here for webscorer results: www.webscorer.com/Ymcamarathon Just ask our volunteers about the course or anything else you are not sure of.
Be sure to say "Hi" to Dave our volunteer marshal at the bottom of Cenotaph Rd. We are always looking for volunteers to help with the course set up, marshalling or race registrations. Let us know what week you could be available to help, so we can add you to the roster.
The construction work on the course has been finished, so we revert to our standard route. Turn up Titoki St, by the Parnell Tennis Club and then right into Maunsell Rd. Cross on the "soon to be marked" Pedestrian Crossing, opposite the Tennis Club entrance and left around the Museum car park loop. Then continue up and clockwise around the Museum as usual.
Please beware, that there are no road closures, and participants should give way to traffic, and be courteous to other footpath users. Watch out for the low overhanging branches on the trees and remember the footpath can be uneven in places. Check out the course here Series Course
